Make delicious homemade ice cream that you can customize to your heart's content with the EdgeStar 1.6 Quart Ice Cream Maker (ICM301SS). Very easy to assemble with straightforward and simple operation, you can make recipes that are as easy as plain vanilla or as decadent as you can dream up. Fill the 1.6 quart capacity removable bowl with the ingredients of your choice, select a cycle time and press start. The ice cream maker does the rest, no need for tiring old fashioned stirring or churning. Choose from six (6) preset times: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 minutes depending on desired consistency. You can interrupt the cycle by holding down the start/stop button for three (3) seconds to check the progress of the ice cream, and if needed you can add operating time by pressing the timer during the cycle.
The extended cooling function automatically runs after the cycle ends, every other 10 minutes for an hour, just in case you have your hands full or forget about the ice cream. This way, it's kept cold and ready for you in the machine for an hour automatically, so you won't have any messy surprises if you can't remove it right away. When you start the machine the mixing and cooling functions begin immediately and both indicator lights will turn on. At the end of the cycle the machine will beep 10 times letting you know the ice cream is ready to serve. Remove the ice cream from the bowl with a plastic or wooden spoon to avoid scratching the bowl, and place straight into serving bowls or into a freezer container. 1st batch is a success!!

I received my Edgestar and put it to the test right away. I made the vanilla ice cream recipe that is in the owners manuel. It turned out fabulous..so smooth is the texture and the flavor is awesome. Now...what I did wrong...live and learn right? ok..I had read that on ice cream makers..if you freeeze the little bucket..you will have better luck...so...against the makers advice..I stuck the pail in the freezer for about a 1/2 an hour...then...I washed out the inside of the machine...but didnt get it completely dry...the results were that after the ice cream finished it cycle...I was unable to remove the ice creme pail from the machine...duh...the moisture froze to the wall of the pail...note to self***follow instructions...I used warn water to pour around the top oif the pail and it released. I am looking forward to my second batch...and..I will follow the rules this time. This unit is way quieter than I anticipated as well...all in all...buy it..its woth the little higher price..it was cooling at -18 degrees!!! No need for ice or salt..just push the button...oh yeah..and follow instructions.

The wonderful taste of homemade ice cream without the mess

I love homemade ice cream but always hated messing with the ice and rock salt. With this ice cream maker you just mix the ingredients and turn it on for about an hour. The ice cream turns out just as if you'd have cranked an old fashioned maker by hand! The only drawback is that it only makes 1.6 quarts - enough for me and my wife for two or three servings - but I'd have to make some ahead of time if I were entertaining. That's OK - the ice cream comes out the consistency of soft serve and is best after curing for a few hours in the freezer anyway.

Makes such delicious ice cream!

We were unhappy with all the additives in commercial ice cream, so I bought this for my sister. So far, we have made 3 batches of ice cream. We are adding a greater percentage of cream than the recipe calls for, and it is so rich and awesome.
