Had a Braun which finally gave up the ghost after 10 years; bought 2 cheaper models from Wal Mart and returned both the same day I bought them-JUNK. Wife loves her Kitchen Aid mixer so I gave this one a try; She loves it. Compact storage case is a bonus.

Design not very well thought out

Received this product as a Christmas gift. In using, I discovered that the speed adjustment dial (the domed chrome part at the very top of the blender)is very difficult rotate due to the amount of force required to move it. Add that to the fact that the domed part is smooth and chromed (and after chopping things in to small enough bits to go in the blender your hands likely will be damp and/or greasy) makes adjusting the speed more difficult than opening a pickle jar.I called KitchenAid customer service that happily sent out a replacement (in a very timely manner) stating the force to adjust the dial should not be that hard. Second one arrived and it is exactly the same.This is a really bad case of design aesthetics coming before design function. It only would have taken a vertical surface to grab onto, some detents to give enough grip or just a simple textured surface that wasnt chromed to allow the part to function properly.
