One Fantastic [Fred Waring & Co] Blender

With so much hype about blenders and features now-a-days we decided to take an elementary approach... Taking our time and educating ourselves for a while before purchasing. Over the past several years, we realized the task to find a good, quality blender on the retail market would prove more daunting and certainly frustrating.There are several things to consider such as; design, weight, capacity, power, speeds and ease of cleaning. I would recommend The New Cooks' Catalogue as a reference. Although many of the appliances and kitchen gadgets illustrated in this book are becoming obsolete, most of the information will remain valuable and sensible. We decided that a practical 2-speed (high and low) blender with an optional pulse switch was all that is necessary.Initially, we were determined to purchase Waring MX1000R Professional 3.0-Horsepower Blender, Black in-part because of the product reviews. In fact, we purchased the Waring MX1000R [new]... So we thought. The MX1000XT Xtreme (Raptor) is the blender which arrived.I contacted the Warning certified seller and inquired why we received a different blender and was told the following;... The Waring MX1000R is a "residential" blender.... The Warning MX1000XT Xtreme (Raptor) is a "commercial" blender. Essentially, is the same blender design as the MX1000R, but it is an up-grade with more power. However, I do not necessarily accept that this blender is truly rated at 3.5 HP... The amperage rating is 13/120VAC, so the mathematical equation fails to make sense.None-the-less, after a few months use, it has proven to be exceptional! The base is heavy (as anticipated)... Our blender sits on the counter in a conspicuous and convenient location. During initial paddle switch operation, there is an electrical "dampening effect" for about 2-3 seconds which prevents a high surge of power. Then, one can literally feel the power of the motor. Even at the low power setting, it crushes large ice for slush drinks "effortlessly". We have yet to use the high or pulse power switches. I simply do not understand any fuss or concern about these blenders being noisy. We found the noise level to be tolerant, so I guess this may vary for others based upon their hearing sensitivity.The container capacity is a generous 64 oz, but MOST IMPORTANT;... The seals and blade assembly is integral to the container (cannot be disassembled). The parts; blade, spline, gears and shaft are metal, not plastic. Appropriate and frequent cleaning should be performed to prolong the life and operational integrity. Perhaps, this may be one reason why replacement containers are expensive.... Cleaning and sanitizing is rather easy. We clean and dry the container immediately after each use. This is performed in a matter of a few minutes.We are convinced this may be among the best blenders on the market.

Blah !Then you have the Waring Pro Raptor Xtreme Power !This blender Has 3.5 HP , and 45,000 RPM's Of mixing power and speed !The Waring Pro Extreme makes whatever you blend a masterpiece !No problems with overheating like some others .The best part of this blenber is : It's made in the USA !!!If you want to run with the big dogs you need to step upto a Waring Pro Raptor Xtreme Power ! And see what it's like to own a real Blender !

I have always wanted to have a powerful blender as I make a lot of smoothies and other types beverages, homemade soups etc. that requires a strong product that you may find used in Starbucks, Jug O Juice...I have only used it 6 times since I purchased it near the end of 2012. Each time I used it I had to hold the handle of the blender jar so it didn't attempt to twist itself on top of the motor. I noticed a smell coming from it but thought it was just because it was new and needed to be broken in per se. Yesterday, came back from the gym and wanted to make a smoothie for my guests and myself. The smell from the motor was horrible and it would not blend my frozen fruit...very disappointed. My hope is that waring will give great customer service and replace the product with one that does work since it is so new. I will keep you posted with any updates as to how Waring deals with this issue.
